Xvid codec on ps3

I keep getting "Unsupported data" when I try to play it on the PS3. I have been able to get other video files to stream successfully, but I cannot figure out why this one won't work. Could try this Until now i havent encoutered a divx file that doesnt play or that i cant make it to play. Bleach, movies or anything plays just fine. If it doesnt play or like bleach files that only plays for 6 secs. It takes less then 10sec for a 24min anime ep, it basicly just change a little thing in the coding.

It such simpel thing, rly lazy that sony didnt ad something to fix this. Or maybe they didnt want it to work Actually, I'm not sure the PS3 has a problem with packed bitstream. It didn't mind any of the test files with packed bitstream I used, anyway. If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them? I have checked my files and likewise some files work with packed bitstream so that cant be the killer. I am desperate for a simple solution to this.

I want a procedure to run thorugh to standardise the file without any encoding. Edit: just read about transcoding on the Tversity website: TVersity Media Server will transcode in real time content that your target device does not support to formats that it does support allowing you to play many of the media files that are currently in your hard drive but did not play or needed to go through a painstaking conversion process to play.

With Tversity it all becomes seemless, it just plays! Sounds promising.. Last edited: Oct 16, It does it on the fly, so beware, you'll need a fairly beefy pc to do it, but i'm not sure if it'll need to be that beefy for the smaller divx files DominicA Active Member.

In the library options of TVersity you can specify on a folder level whether Tversity Transcodes or leaves as is. The 'Transcode when necessary' option won't work as Tversity thinks the PS3 should play these files even though it won't so you have to force transcoding on these files.

Wouldnt the divx files need to be transcoded first? You must log in or register to reply here. Similar threads. KODI Replies 21 Views 9K. Oct 25, wiz. Replies 31 Views 4K. Dec 8, Member Replies 3 Views 3K.

You can read this article and get more useful tips. Xvid adopts ASP feautures including global, b-frames, lumi masking, quarter pixel motion compensation, trellis quantization and so on. Xvid is a video format. Xvid can be a main competitor of DivX codec. However, DivX is proprietary software developed by DivX. In another word, DivX video codec can only be available for just a few platforms. But Xvid can be applied on almost all platforms as well as operating systems as long as the source code can be compiled.

Xvid codec is very useful. Xvid codec is able to be used to compress a full-length movie with DVD quality to fit well on one single CD and keep the original DVD quality at the same time when you watch the movie. That's to say, Xvid codec enables will let you to maintain the high quality of the video in a smaller file size. As long as you download and install Xvid codec on your system, you can easily play videos in Xvid codec with Windows Media Player or any other Xvid-compatible media player like PS3, Xbox and so on.

Hey I am new to this and trying to still absorb all the info but I am using windows media player 11 the only one that worked for me as for streaming pics video music files with sound no problems using version 2. TLR , Jan 27, Ryu77 , Jan 28, You must log in or sign up to reply here.
