You acquire full control of Serah, Noel, and the systems that power them an hour or two after the opening sequence; a stark contrast to the slow build of the original.
Environments no longer follow a single path. With webs of rooms to explore and treasure chests hidden off the map, Final Fantasy XIII-2 encourages you to take your time and look around. You can access these environments, which dot the timeline, in more than one order. While a general flow from one place to another moves the plot along, the freedom to sidetrack greatly enhances the explorative flavor. This system gives you even more things to track down, tweak, and make your own.
Considering this, along with the many side quests and secret endings, you have much more content to enjoy. The battle system also benefits from less obvious, but just as important, alterations. The action gauge returns with role-specific abilities that consume segments of that gauge. But Paradigm Shifts, the act of changing roles mid-fight, have been injected with adrenaline. Shifts happen so quickly the overall pace of battle feels much faster. Cure My Addiction Chapter 1,2,3,4,5.
This has its benefits. In one way, it speeds battles up and eliminates much of the hassle from traditional turn-based affairs. Yet it also takes away the more intimate challenge of those same systems. But I really loved combat in that game. While this game retains very similar combat system it simply lacks characters. You can have third party member as a captured monster. They also can evolve and you have quite a bit of choice which monster you want to use. Mar 30, Update FF13Fix. Mar 9, Initial commit.

Hey guys, So surprisingly the FPS isn't much of an issue for me. I know it's a terrible port but it seems to be locked at 30fps for me which is fine and playable.
However, the issue that I'm having is that it seems to completely crash sometimes whenever I try to save the game or when a cutscene loads up. Other times it'll work normally as it should, and other times it'll completely crash to desktop and even mess up steam altogether.
Other occasions I'll just be walking around and it'll do the same thing, crash. So I'm wondering if anyone knows of a fix for this? I'd refund but I bought the game over a year ago when it was on sale and exceeded the 2 hours already. Thanks for any help.

But you should not have any more "save crashes". As far as the randon crashes, there is no fix for it. The game still crashes from time to time When I disabled steam cloud it didn't pick up the save that's on my computer so would I have to start from stratch with steam cloud disabled from the start?
