Some say to un-check the collate option, done that, some say to update the Driver , done that too. Others just have no answer. Nothing I try seems to let the user print copies of documents.
Anybody know what could possibly be wrong? It's working fine with WinXP. I've not hooked it up to a Win7 PC, but over the next few days, I could give it ago and see what happens. Are you using the USB port? And which driver - the one Win7 decides? Yeah in XP it worked fine. The Driver is the one found at HP's site: HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL5 It seems to create 2 printers, one that has always a problem, no matter what you do you can't repair or delete, and another one that I had to manually point to the port of the first one so it would print, otherwise it would not print at all.
By the way its Windows 7 32 Bit. Its definitely a driver issue, but being no other drivers there I though maybe someone knew if there was some other driver perhaps for another printer that may work on this one. It'll be late tomorrow by the time I've done it. If the latter applies can you use those Printer Settings to fix the problem? Well, exactly the same happened to me! It installed easily and correctly. Before: After: and confirmed: And then when entering "3" for three copies in Adobe Reader, and clicking "Print", I get this: I'm amazed!
I have had a similar issue in the past, where we could not print multiple collated sets. Can't remember whether that was the HP laserjet, Xerox printer or Canon copier, though. I do know that it was a known issue and changing the driver solved the problem. I think it's coming back to me that the issue was only when printing from Adobe. Yes, that's right, from Adobe Reader to the Xerox Phaser.
Had worked previously and then maybe I got a new x64 system and put new drivers on it. Even though this posting has been closed for a long time, thanks for documenting a resolution that worked for you as some one else experiencing the same problem may retrieve the topic during a query. I will definitely file it for future reference. Can anyone confirm - I've been told it is unwise to leave HP printers switched on between job as they are a fire risk.
Is this correct? Surely it goes into sleep mode? Aaron your solution worked for me on a series pcl 5! Thank you, was starting to pull my hair out after installing all these drivers! I did however find a clue.
I activated W7 built in administrator account and from that account it prints multiples as it should Maybe someone could set the Best Answer - Been Long enough don't know if it solved Ops Problem but definitely solved others!
I have a similar issue with our HP LaserJet Professional Pdn which iis networked and one of my users can only print 1 copy at a time even if its set to print multiple copies. Now here are my issues any other users that print to this printer can print multiple copies.
I have printed multiple copies from other users to this printer and it works just fine. I have reinstalled drivers on his machine, I have completely taken off the printer and reinstalled it, and I have done a firmware update on it with no luck.
Funny thing is though when I log onto our administrator account on his machine it prints out multiple copies just fine. So it seems the problem is somewhere in his profile. But if he prints to a different printer on our network he can print multiple copies, its just this HP LaserJet that he cannot print multiple copies too. I also cannot find the Mopier Mode that I keep reading about, which I believe is not the case in this situation anyways since it seems to be only his profile that this is happening to.
Ryan, you really need to start a new thread otherwise you won't get the visibility. Feel free to link to this thread for reference. Tags: LaserJet Level 9. Message 2 of I suspect that the following may be the case: Your document is a multiple page document i.
You are selecting that copies be printed ' collated ' i. The driver assumes that the printer can produce the multiple copies from a single copy source - this is known as MOPY ing I think that it stands for ' multiple original copying '. Most of the file may be unintelligible, but the beginning will look something like: If the SET QTY command is there, this confirms that the driver thinks that the printer will perform the copies.
Then repeat the tests to see whether or not that makes any difference. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Level 1. Message 3 of Thanks a million!
