The instructions are talking about the files inside the Zipped file. So, when you click to view the contents of the compressed file you can select the file s that have been compressed and then drag to your desktop. These files would be automatically uncompressed on the desktop. If you are unzipping the file, then Windows Explorer should be an option. I recommend checking the file type, if it is not a zip file, then you may need to use another software to uncompress the file.
If you are not the administrator user on your computer then you will need to contact that person and ask for assistance. This is not a hosting issue as we do not have access to your computer to make changes to the roles of the users. If possible, make sure that the running application has proper access rights to make changes to your files. Thank you for this very usable process.
The only challenge I had was finding the zipped Adobe file once downloaded. Some of these also use Java which isn't necessarily native to windows but is so common that it nearly seems so. Others have already discussed various methods for using the built in windows functions, my solution requires installing the additional software. Here is another idea, from 4 different sources; not my ideas, but I compiled them to make it work for me.
One of these issues is that the method returns immediately while the copy process starts in background whereas multiple CopyHere calls will interfere each other and the ZIP won't be created correctly. A wait loop is needed here to fix that. My wait loop is based on an answer to a similar issue posted here. Here is an updated version which fixes the 'Object required' error reported by pihentagy. This creates a new zip file from the folder. It also highlights the name of the new file so you can edit it.
Name the file. The file takes the name of the folder by default. You can type a new name for the file if you wish, or just skip to the next step. The zip file is now saved. Method 2. Use this method if you prefer using WinZip, the popular shareware compression app, rather than the default tool in Windows.
Click WinZip. This opens the WinZip menu. Click Add to filename. This adds the contents of the folder to the zip file. Click OK on the confirmation window. This is the window that tells you your files have been added. This will compress the zip file, giving it a smaller file size.
Include your email address to get a message when this question is answered. Creating a zip folder is a convenient way to store multiple files in one place. For example, if you wanted to send someone multiple image files, you could consolidate them into one zip file so you only have to send one thing.
